After the European launch in Norway about half a year ago, Ford is bringing its F-150 Lightning electric pickup to the streets of Switzerland. The electric pickup can be ordered there as of now.

For the market launch in Switzerland “in limited numbers”, Ford is offering the F-150 Lightning in the “lavishly equipped” Lariat variant in the “Super Crew Cab” double cab body style, with all-wheel drive, 20-inch wheels and in the striking “Antimatter Blue Metallic” paint. The price: 127,000 Swiss francs.

The manufacturer does not disclose the number of units Ford has limited the electric pickup to in Switzerland.

In the USA, the battery-electric vehicle has been delivered since 2022. It is 6.29 metres long, just over two metres wide and two metres high. It is equipped with a battery with a usable capacity of 98 kWh and two electric drives with a total output of 337 kW. The WLTP range is 429 kilometres.

The vehicle has a trailer load of up to 3.5 tonnes and a payload of 600 kilogrammes. Via the integrated sockets of the Pro-Power-Onboard system on the cargo bed, the electric pickup truck can also operate external devices, for example on the construction site, with up to 2.3 kW.

Meanwhile, in the USA, Ford has scaled down production of the F-150 Lightning and is only manufacturing the pickup in two shifts and no longer in three. In general, the US carmaker wants to postpone investments in new production capacities for electric vehicles and batteries, as the sales prices for electric cars on the market are currently subject to “enormous downward pressure”.
