According to the company, Ineez Air Charging is compatible with any wallbox worldwide, with all power grids (1-phase or 3-phase), and all electric vehicles (400- and 800-volt batteries). It is also allegedly the only wireless charging solution to use an ultra low operating frequency of around 3kHz, “offering a unique, lighter (50% of other systems’ weight) and simpler charging experience. It relies on simplified hardware to make it affordable to all, while keeping high efficiency above 90% from grid to battery.”

The wireless charging solution also offers vehicle-to-grid functionality (V2G) for any target power solution from 7 to 22 kW. Moreover, it can be plugged into an existing wallbox and linked directly to the power grid. Ineez Air Charging can thus be used in public locations, such as shopping centres or street parking, and for private charging at home.

Valeo says the wireless EV charging technology is even “prepared for a future where autonomous cars come to recharge by themselves onto an inductive charging area.” It is covered by over 25 design patents for hardware, software, and mechatronics.

The CES 2024 opens its doors in Las Vags on 9 January and runs until Friday, 12 January 2024.
