Last October, Smart launched the new variant, which is called #1 Pro and costs 5,000 euros less than the previous entry-level model #1 Pro+ in the German market. The same price reduction was now announced for the UK market at 5,000 pounds. When it was presented, it was announced that the #1 Pro could be ordered from “mid-autumn 2023”, starting in Germany, France, Spain, Italy and Switzerland. It would then be successively introduced in the other European Smart markets by spring 2024. This now marks the first of these additional markets. This also marks the first vehicle available in Europe built on Geely’s SEA platform.

The entry-level electric SUV is fitted with Smart’s smallest battery to date, which features a 49kWh capacity, offering 193 miles of range and has a maximum charging rate of 130kW, allowing drivers to charge from 10-80% in less than 30 minutes. The single rear-mounted electric motor produces 268bhp, enabling a sprint from 0-62mph in 6.7 seconds.

Smart UK CEO David Browne explained: “The arrival of the #1 Pro on UK shores completes the #1 line-up, providing an exceptional value proposition for customers who require less range while expecting just as much in the way of style and substance. Accompanied by a new series of an extremely compelling PCP deals across the #1 range, we’re very excited to see how the public responds to this new offering.”
