The Toyota Proace Max goes on sale in the UK
Toyota presented the large van at the end of 2023, which is the result of a cooperation with Stellantis. It is fitted with a 200 kW electric drive and a 110 kWh battery. According to Toyota, it “has an official (WLTP) standard driving range of up to 260 miles,” equivalent to about 418 kilometres.
The battery can be charged to 80 per cent in 55 minutes at a DC charger with 150 kW. Moreover, all versions of the large van have an 11 kWh AC onboard charger.
The BEV version of the panel van is available in two lengths – 5,998 mm and 6,363 mm. Both versions can be ordered with a height of 2,764 mm, while the shorter version also comes with a height of 2,764 mm. The smallest version (5,998 mm x 2,524 mm) starts at £48,335, while the largest of the four variants (6,363 mm x 2,764 mm) sells for a minimum of £64,325.
The manufacturer also points out that the Proace Max is available with a chassis cab and platform cab, together with one-way tipper and dropside bodies ex works. However, it seems as though not all variants are available for the battery-electric version. In the price list, Toyota only includes the ‘Chassic cab L3’ (shorter length) for a starting price of £60,180.
As mentioned above, the Proace Max is the result of a cooperation between Toyota and Stellantis, which builds on an earlier cooperation focused on small panel van models. For the larger models, Toyota had waited for Stellantis to present its drive update at its ‘Commercial Vehicles Ambition Day‘ in October 2023
