Altas Auto to deliver electric mini and midi buses to Deutsche Bahn
Specifically, the electric buses are the Novus City V7, Novus City N8, and Novus Cityline LW. All models are seven or eight meters long and are designed for the city.
The Lithuanian company specifies that even though the models are similar in size, they are fit for different situations. For example, the Cityline LW “is an excellent choice for those seeking a manoeuvrable, cost-efficient solution for narrow city streets without the need for high passenger capacity.” It seats 13 passengers and can transport up to 22 people.
The chassis is a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. It is about 7.3 metres long, with a wheelbase of 4.3 metres. The asynchronous motor delivers up to 150 kW and a maximum torque of 1250 Nm. The bus has a range of up to 240 kilometres and a top speed of 80 kph. It comes with an NMC battery pack, or three, in fact, with an energy content of 38.3 kWh each.

The 7.5-metre-long Altas Novus City V7 can also navigate narrow city streets. It can transport up to 35 people, 18 of them seated. It is fitted with a permanent magnet synchronous motor with 200 kW peak, and that delivers up to 2,450 Nm of torque. The bus has a range of up to 309 kilometres and a maximum speed of 80 kph. It has four LFP batteries from CATL, each with an energy content of 35 kW, bringing the total to 140 kW.

The Altas Novus City N8, on the other hand, has room for up to 55 people and is thus “ideal for managing heavy passenger traffic during peak hours.” Unfortunately, there are no technical details about the electric vehicle on the Altas website when this article was written.
Altas Auto and the German railway company Deutsche Bahn have been working together in the past, even though not directly. Vehicle deliveries were handled through Altas’ German partners. This contract marks the first direct partnership.
“This agreement is a huge milestone for us,” said Edvardas Radzevičius, founder of Altas Auto. “Our goal has always been to provide buses that help our clients succeed in their daily operations. Being chosen by DB shows that our approach is working, and we’re proud to continue supporting reliable and efficient urban transportation across Germany.”
