Mercedes to release eVito with 480 km range
We are already familiar with the 90-kWh battery from the EQV MPV for the private market and the eVito Tourer estate for commercial applications – two relatives of the electric van. The eVito panel van now also has this larger battery as an option, which increases the range from a maximum of 307 km in the previous version to up to 480 km according to the WLTP cycle. In addition, the 90 kWh can now be combined with both the familiar 85 kW motor and the more powerful electric motor from the eVito Tourer with a peak output of up to 150 kW.
The manufacturer’s price for the eVito Transporter with a larger battery in Germany starts at 46,007.93 euros gross or 38,662 euros net. This also includes a maintenance package for four years and a battery warranty for up to 160,000 kilometres or eight years.

In mid-2023, Mercedes-Benz gave its mid-size vans a facelift. The facelift included design refreshes to the exterior and interior as well as more comfort, safety and functionality. However, there were no changes to the drive systems. With the new option of a Vito panel van with 90 kWh, which has now been added to the range, the manufacturer is putting its hand back on the drive system for the first time. This is because the previous eVito, with its rather short range, ex works only 50 kW DC (and optional 80 kW charging capacity) and 85 kW drive, is primarily limited to urban areas. In the configurator, this version is listed from 36,181 euros.
The larger battery in the eVito therefore costs roughly €2,500 extra. According to Mercedes-Benz, the 90 kWh should make the electric van explicitly attractive for ‘an even wider range of users in the commercial sector’. The energy content figure is the net value, i.e. the actual usable battery capacity. The new version can be fast-charged with up to 110 kW, which should bring the battery from 10 to 80 per cent in around 40 minutes.
The dimensions of the two available eVito lengths remain unchanged at 5,140 mm in the long version and 5,390 mm in the extra-long version (A2 and A3). The large battery is not offered in the short version. Mercedes-Benz puts the load volume in the interior at up to 6.6 cubic metres. An onboard charger for AC charging with 11 kW is also installed in all panel van variants.
As with the eVito Tourer, the eVito panel van also includes a multimedia system (‘MBUX’) with a 10.25-inch central display and 5.5-inch colour display in the instrument cluster, a keyless start system, an electric starting brake and several safety and assistance systems.
“With the new variants of the eVito panel van, we are expanding the fields of application for commercial electromobility and ensuring that locally CO₂-emission-free mobility is even more suitable for everyday use,” said Klaus Rehkugler, Head of Sales & Marketing Mercedes-Benz Vans.
