UK: Kia introduces new entry-level version of the EV6
Kia UK has introduced a new Standard Range version of its popular EV6 ‘Air’, offering a more accessible entry point into its electric crossover line-up. The move underlines Kia’s strategy to widen the appeal of its electric mobility offering as demand continues to rise across UK and European markets.
The 63 kWh lithium-ion battery supports a WLTP combined range of up to 265 miles (427 km), and up to 400 miles (644 km). The EV6’s dedicated Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) architecture remains unchanged, retaining its 800 V electrical system. As a result, the vehicle is capable of ultra-fast DC charging from 10 to 80 per cent in 18 minutes using a 350 kW charger, or in 58 minutes with a 50 kW unit. Despite the smaller battery capacity, Kia has not compromised on charging capability.
A single rear-mounted motor enables 0–62 mph (0–100 km/h) in 8.7 seconds and a top speed of 115 mph (185 km/h). The smaller battery contributes to a reduced kerb weight of 1,955 kg, supporting both agility and efficiency.
Standard equipment matches the EV6 ‘Air’ with the larger 84 kWh battery. This includes 19-inch alloy wheels, LED headlamps, heated front seats and steering wheel, adaptive cruise control with stop/go function, and keyless start. The cabin features dual 12.3-inch curved displays for instrumentation and infotainment, with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus seven years of Kia Connect telematics included as standard.

Interior trim consists of black cloth and artificial leather. Four exterior colours are available – Runway Red, Midnight Black, Glacier White, and Interstellar Grey – with premium paint options priced at £675 (€785).
Practicality is unchanged, with 490 litres of rear boot space complemented by a 52-litre front compartment for cable storage. The EV6 ‘Air’ Standard Range is rated to tow braked trailers of up to 750 kg.
