Chinese EV manufacturer Xpeng has entered into a strategic partnership with Plugsurfing to grant its European customers immediate access to one of the continent’s most extensive public charging networks.

The cooperation connects drivers to over 940,000 charging points across 27 countries, thanks to Plugsurfing’s aggregated service. According to the partners, some 500 charge point operators already work with Plugsurfing. Xpeng is tapping into this infrastructure by integrating Plugsurfing’s Drive API, enabling real-time availability data, pricing, remote start/stop functions, card initiation, and streamlined payment processing.

Xpeng emphasises that it has tailored the charging experience within its own vehicle interface and mobile app. Users benefit from in-car access to station information, including connector types, power levels, availability, and pricing. Smart filtering, long-distance trip planning, and voice-enabled station search are built into the system to accommodate regional driving behaviours and preferences.

“Existing Xpeng customers only need to register once in the [Xpeng] app by entering an email address and credit card details to immediately access this feature,” the carmaker adds. Xpeng owners can also ask to receive a complimentary charging card for authentication across the entire system.

Xpeng’s charging collaboration reflects the company’s broader ambitions in Europe, where it continues to scale operations after entering the market in Norway in 2021. The Chinese OEM is currently active in key regions including Germany, France, the UK, and the Nordics, with additional launches planned for Austria, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia. Its portfolio consists of the P7 sedan, the large G9 SUV and the G6 SUV coupé.

Xpeng says it is committed to ‘localising’ the EV experience through both technology and infrastructure partnerships. By the end of 2025, the company aims to be active in more than 60 markets worldwide and generate half of its turnover in overseas markets.
