Cadillac presented the Lyriq-V in January as the first electric model in its V-Series. The GM brand offers its most powerful models under this label, similar to AMG at Mercedes and M at BMW. At the premiere at the beginning of the year, it was said that the sporty version of the Lyriq would initially be launched primarily in Anglo-Saxon markets such as the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

Around six months later, Cadillac also made the launch in Europe official on the sidelines of the 24-hour race in Le Mans, where the US brand will be competing with four racing cars. Consequently, France is one of the three markets in which the Lyriq-V is now also available in Europe, with prices starting at 110,184 euros. In Germany, the Lyriq-V is listed at 108,809 euros, while in Switzerland, the minimum price is 112,771 Swiss francs. The first customer deliveries in Europe are planned from November 2025.

The Lyriq-V has a 459 kW all-wheel drive with up to 880 Nm of torque. The 102 kWh battery (91 kWh net), already familiar from the standard model, provides a range of 285 miles (equivalent to 459 kilometres). It is surprising that Cadillac states an ‘estimated’ WLTP range of 460 kilometres in the current announcement for the European launch, as 285 miles/459 kilometres were determined in the American EPA test, which generally results in higher consumption and therefore a lower range. The final WLTP value could therefore result in a slightly higher range. The sprint from 0 to 100 kph is said to take place in 3.3 seconds.

General Motors made its comeback in Europe last year with the 388 kW all-wheel drive version of the standard Lyriq. The Lyriq-V stands out from this model not only due to its increased performance but also due to a number of sporty features. Externally, the performance version is distinguished by carbon fibre accents and the side skirts reserved for the V-series, plus the characteristic lower front apron. The model also featured a black-painted roof and 22-inch wheels with a dark sports finish. The Lyriq-V also has certain interior features, such as a panoramic glass roof, an audio system with 23 speakers, a 33-inch display in the cockpit and an augmented reality head-up display with two levels. The suspension has also been retuned for the Lyriq-V, and there are additional driving modes such as Launch Control and Competitive Mode.

“With LYRIQ-V, we’re delivering the boldest expression yet of Cadillac’s electric vision for Europe – fast, luxurious, high-tech, and unmistakably Cadillac,” said Pere Brugal, President and Managing Director of GM Europe. “The decision to unveil this model at Le Mans was intentional — a tribute to our racing legacy and a demonstration of how the insights gained on the track can shape the future of electric mobility.”

A few hours before the Lyriq-V, Cadillac also unveiled the Optiq-V. This is the top version of the Optiq e-SUV, which is one class below the Lyriq. Whether the Optiq-V will come to Europe has not yet been confirmed, but is very likely.
