Isuzu UK has confirmed pricing for its D-Max EV pick-up, starting at £59,995. The electric 4x4 offers a 1-tonne payload, 3.5-tonne towing, dual-motor powertrain, and 66.9kWh battery, with pre-sales later this year and UK deliveries from February 2026.

The electric model will be available in two trims, eDL40 and eV-Cross. The production-ready D-Max EV features a dual-motor 140kW powertrain with a 66.9kWh battery, delivering a 1-tonne payload and a 3.5-tonne towing capacity. Both eDL40 and eV-Cross models provide full-time 4WD and retain the rugged build of their diesel equivalents.

The eDL40 will be offered with an extended or double cab and standard Splash White colour, while optional metallic finishes cost an additional £600 excluding VAT. The flagship eV-Cross, priced from £62,495 ex VAT, gains an exclusive Dolomite White Pearl finish alongside dark grey styling, a 9-inch infotainment display, and an 8-speaker premium sound system.

Pre-sales are set to begin later in 2025, with first arrivals in the UK from February 2026. Customer deliveries are scheduled to start in March, with right-hand drive demonstrator vehicles available to fleet customers in advance.

“We’re incredibly proud to launch the D-Max EV at a competitive price point for a fully electric, fully capable, and work-ready 4×4 pick-up,” said Neil Scott, National Sales Manager at Isuzu UK. “There’s nothing else like it in the market today that combines zero-emission driving with full commercial capability.”

The Japanese manufacturer first announced that it would bring the electric pickup to selected markets in Europe in 2024 and started series production in April of this year. In addition to the UK, it will also be offered in Norway, Australia, Thailand and other markets, according to the company. During the initial presentation, Isuzu said the D-Max EV would be fitted with 130 kW of power (40 kW at the front and 90 kW at the rear), so it gained 10 kW since then.

The D-MAX BEV is based on the combustion model D-MAX, which is now available in its third generation. Apart from a few blue elements at the front and the closed radiator grille, the electric version is also visually similar to the combustion model. Isuzu has designed the D-MAX as a “world car.” It is sold in over 100 countries.

What lame numbers. How do they expect anyone to get excited by a sub-150kW EV? When companies like Zeekr, BYD and Tesla deliver ICE killers, Isuzu have aimed to replicate the tame and boring numbers of their existing D-Max. What a missed opportunity.
