The postal company does not state in the press release which manufacturer Bpost has placed the order for the 500 electric delivery vehicles with. However, only electric vans from the Stellantis Group can be seen in the press photos, such as the Peugeot E-Partner and the Opel Combo Electric. However, the first electric vans came from Renault. However, it is not confirmed whether Stellantis or Renault have been chosen again for the current order.

Delivery is scheduled for the autumn so that the vehicles can be added to the fleet in time for the ‘year-end peak’: Parcel volumes increase dramatically in November and December. According to Bpost, the company delivers up to 800,000 parcels a day.

Bpost doubled the number of electric delivery vehicles in its fleet to 2,000 in June 2024. Since then, more electric transporters have been added to the fleet, because when the 500 vehicles now ordered are delivered in autumn, the fleet will comprise a total of 3,146 electric transporters, according to the press release. “This makes bpost’s fleet not only the largest operational fleet in Belgium, but also the greenest,” wrote the company.

bpost’s long-term goal is for all parcels in Belgium to reach their destination emission-free by 2030. Currently, more than one in four parcels are delivered emission-free across the country, according to the company. However, this does not just mean the electric transporters, but also 2,685 electric bicycles and 485 e-bike trailers.

In order to make not only the delivery of parcels itself, but also the transport between the sorting centres cleaner, the company also purchased a second e-truck at the beginning of 2025. This will alternate between the sorting centres in Antwerp, Liège and Charleroi.
