For the battery electric variant, the prices start higher than the above-mentioned hybrid, at £34,065. It runs on a 210 HP electric motor (156 kW) and features a range of up to 322 miles. Three trim variants are available for the model, including the ‘YOU!’, ‘PLUS’ and ‘MAX’ variants. For the electric version, prices range from the above-mentioned base price to £36,705 for the ‘PLUS’ variant and £39,345 for the range-topping ‘MAX’.

In terms of technical differences between the trim levels, there are none, but there are a few comfort features that differentiate between the models. To start, the basic model features “18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights with High Beam Assist, 13-inch touchscreen with 3D navigation, wireless smartphone charger, adaptive cruise control and a high-quality Urban Grey interior with Sofa fabric.” The ‘PLUS’ trim then adds premium fabrics and more dynamic lighting, as well as keyless entry, front parking sensors and a 180-degree reversing camera. Finally, the ‘MAX’ version introduces an extended HUD, heated front seats and an improved drive assist feature, as well as a heat pump for improved winter operations.

The automobile manufacturer has already promised that a long-range version is to follow later in the year. This variant is to achieve a range of up to 421 miles per charge, while running on a 230 HP (169 kW) electric drive system. The manufacturer also applauds the boot capacity, which offers 651 litres with the seats up, to over 1,600 litres with the rear bench folded down.

Regarding the hybrid variant, the same trim options are available as for the BEV version, and it can deliver up to 53 miles of electric range. It runs on a 110-kW petrol engine with a 92-kW electric motor and a 21-kWh battery. Prices here start at £30,495 for the ‘YOU!’ trim, and max out at £35,775 in the ‘MAX’ variant.

For both models, Citroën writes that it has introduced a “new chapter in design,” increasing aerodynamics and performance. The vehicle’s curves were sharpened compared to the predecessor, as well as a “more upright, confident silhouette.” Orders can be placed with designated retailers already, while parent company Stellantis writes that the option to order online “will be live on the Citroën Online Store in the coming days.”

The Stellantis subsidiary introduced the second generation of its C5 Aircross at the end of April, although the model was initially introduced as a hybrid in 2018. It was only last year that Stellantis announced plans to offer the vehicle as a battery-electric SUV, which is now finally happening.
