Zaptec launches V2G-ready AC charger in the UK
The Go 2 is now available to order in the UK. It integrates dynamic load balancing to avoid costly grid upgrades and is MID-certified with an in-built screen, a feature that anticipates forthcoming UK regulations on certified energy metering for accurate billing and salary sacrifice schemes. The unit also offers subscription-free 4G connectivity, OCPP 1.6J compliance for integration with platforms and operators, and solar-ready compatibility through energy management apps such as ev.energy.
Moreover, the 3-phase, 22 kW charger supports ISO 15118, enabling plug-and-charge functionality as well as bi-directional energy communication between vehicle and grid. While carmakers are still in the process of activating V2G features, Zaptec states that the device is prepared for this transition.
The charger receives over-the-air software updates, allowing features to evolve in line with market standards. Zaptec highlights that the Go 2 can already support a range of use cases, from driveway charging to fleet home charging and local council or developer projects.

Founded in Norway, Zaptec says it has sold more than 650,000 charging units across Europe and was named the leading home EV charger brand on the continent in 2025 by research firm LCP Delta. The company positions the UK launch of the Go 2 as a step towards enabling broader adoption of smart, connected charging infrastructure.
“With Zaptec Go 2, we’re launching more than just a charger. We’re giving people confidence in their EV future,” said Michael Braybrook, Managing Director UK at Zaptec. “It’s a product designed to meet the needs of drivers today, and tomorrow. It helps homeowners, businesses and public sector partners invest in infrastructure that’s ready to evolve and stay ahead of the curve.”
