Stelato launches pre-sales for the S9T in China
This marks the company’s second model available on the market. It is intended to compete with the likes of Nio’s ET5 Touring model, and is available in either a battery-electric or range-extender variant. In terms of design, the S9T looks the same as the S9, with an extended rear for a larger trunk storage space of 660 litres. In terms of dimensions, the Stelato S9T stands at 5160/2005/1492 mm with a wheelbase of 3,050 mm.
The battery electric version of the car runs on a 100 kWh NMC battery pack from Huawei, and allows for a range of up to 801 kilometres, according to CNEVPost. No mention was made of which measuring system was used, so this is likely in the Chinese CLTC. The entry-level version of the vehicle features a rear-axle-mounted 227 kW electric motor. A more powerful ‘Ultra’ variant of the station wagon is also available with a dual-motor AWD for 385 kW. The more expensive variant starts at 348,000 yuan (approx. £36,000), which is exactly 20,000 yuan more than the base version.
For the EREV version, an electric range of 354 kilometres was reported, which allows for a total range of up to 1,305 km when the vehicle is fully charged and fueled. Two battery options are available here, with either a 37 kWh LFP battery or a 53.4 kWh battery.
Inside the S9T, the differences between the versions are minimal. Both feature more than 10 screens and are equipped with Huawei’s intelligent projection screen system 2.0. A smart driving system is also included, featuring a 192-channel LiDAR, three high-precision solid-state LiDARs, and five 4D millimetre-wave radars. This will mark one of the first series vehicles to be fitted with Huawei’s ADS 4 automated driving system.
Stelato had launched sales for the sedan version of the car, the S9, at the end of May, making this a rather quick lineup expansion. Prices range between 450,000 and 550,000 Yuan, making the prior model significantly more expensive. One reason for the price change is that the S9 sold 15,068 units from October 2024 to July 2025, according to China EV DataTracker. Huawei & BAIC had initially planned to sell 120,000 units of the Stelato S9 per year, making this a somewhat disappointing result.
