202 new electric Yutong buses for Uzbekistan
The Yutong electric buses delivered to Uzbekistan are part of a series of supply agreements between Chinese manufacturers and the Uzbek government, aimed at strengthening cooperation in sustainable transport development. The new vehicles will be operated by Toshshahatransxizmat JSC, the public transport company responsible for urban mobility in the capital. It is not clear which model or models were delivered in this case.
According to the Ministry of Transport, the newly arrived buses meet modern technical, environmental and safety standards and are equipped to improve urban transport efficiency. The introduction of electric vehicles has already had a measurable environmental impact, with harmful emissions from Tashkent’s public transport network reduced by 93.3 tonnes per month in recent years, according to city officals.
Under the national transport modernisation plan, electric buses are expected to account for 50 per cent of Tashkent’s public transport fleet by 2030. To reach this target, the authorities plan to put 1,200 new electric and modern buses of various capacities into service by the end of 2026.
The forthcoming additions will include 30 ultra-large 18-metre buses, 500 large 12-metre buses and 470 medium 9-metre vehicles. The large-scale renewal of the fleet is designed to increase passenger capacity and comfort, improve service reliability and reduce operational emissions across the city’s bus network.
