McGill’s places follow-up order with Yutong

McGill’s Buses has ordered a further 41 battery-electric buses from Yutong. They will be part-funded by the Scottish Zero Emission Bus (ScotZEB) fund and take to 96 the number of Yutong zero-emission buses with the operator in Scotland.

SQM begins testing electric truck for logistics

Newport orders 16 more Yutong electric buses

The Welsh port city of Newport is increasing its electric bus fleet from 16 to 32 vehicles. The operator Newport Transport has ordered 16 more electric buses from the Chinese manufacturer Yutong, which are to be delivered by the end of this year. The 16 existing electric buses are also from Yutong.

Turin orders 100 electric buses from BYD

After the Turin transport operator GTT terminated a contract with the Chinese manufacturer Yutong for the delivery of 100 electric buses, BYD has now received the order. The first 50 of the electric buses have already been firmly ordered from BYD and are to be delivered to Turin in April 2021.

Qatar orders 741 electric buses from Yutong

The Chinese manufacturer Yutong has received a record order for 1,002 buses, 741 of which are electric. The order comes from Mowasalat, the public transport company in Qatar. The buses are planned to help with the crowds at World Cup held on the Arabian Peninsula in 2022.

BYD, ST and Yutong share Singapore electric bus order

Singapore has contracted three companies with an order for 60 electric buses to be delivered in 2019/ 2020. The contracts went to BYD, ST Engineering and Yutong-NARI. At the same time, Singapore Power announced their plan to build 1,000 charging points in the city-state.

Hydrogen buses coming to China’s Henan province

The city of Zhengzhou in China is testing 20 hydrogen buses made by Yutong. The first two have taken to the roads already, now serving on route 727. Another 18 fuel cell buses will follow as part of a commercial demo operation.

Flixbus launches first long-distance electric bus route in France

Munich-based bus operator Flixbus has entered the electric age in France yesterday, as it launched two electric buses that will go the long distance. The coach service runs between Paris and the city of Amiens and electrive.com was live at the launch event in Paris, just at the foot of the Eiffel Tower.
