Fratelli Foppiani receives first MAN eTGX electric trucks in Italy
The MAN eTGX 4×2 tractor unit is equipped with six high-voltage batteries with a total capacity of 534 kWh. The MAN eTGX 6×2-4 rigid truck has five batteries with a combined capacity of 445 kWh. MAN also highlights that safety systems are installed for both drivers and road users.
The two vehicles were ordered at the end of 2023 and were delivered during a ceremony at the company’s Corsico headquarters this month, coinciding with the company’s 65th anniversary. According to MAN Truck & Bus Italia, the tractor unit will operate primarily from Corsico (Milan), with routes including Rozzano, Voghera and Brescia. The rigid truck will operate from Busto Arsizio (Varese), serving areas across Milan and Bergamo.
Fratelli Foppiani Trasporti has installed a Kempower charging infrastructure at its Corsico site, including a 250 kW CPU-Power Unit expandable to 400 kW and a satellite unit with dual cable management. Additional charging points can be added as the electric fleet expands.
“This delivery represents a fundamental step forward for sustainable transport in Italy, and we are proud to have achieved it together with a long-standing partner such as Fratelli Foppiani, which has once again demonstrated vision and courage,” said Marc Martinez, Managing Director MAN Truck & Bus Italia.
Pietro Zanon, Head of Procurement at Fratelli Foppiani Trasporti, stated: “Receiving the first electric MAN eTGX trucks in Italy on our 65th anniversary is a strong signal: we are ready to look to the future with the same pioneering spirit that has guided us since 1960.”
