Heliox launches 44 kW V2G DC charger
As the name suggests, the Heliox 44 kW V2G delivers up to 44 kW and is capable of charging bidirectionally. According to the company, it is compatible with both networked and standalone operations. It complies with ISO 15118-20 and SAE J2847 standards, ensuring interoperability with a wide range of current and future electric vehicles.
The charger features adjustable AC input settings ranging from 15 to 56 amps, enabling installation in locations with restricted power capacity. Moreover, its compact, all-in-one design supports flexible installation across different types of facilities and is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. Users can choose between wall-mounted or pedestal configurations, while the company offers cable lengths of five or seven metres.
Most notably, with built-in time-of-use programming and scheduled energy transfer capabilities, the Heliox 44 kW V2G enables cost-optimised fleet charging. The bidirectional function supports energy sales back to the grid, while also allowing the use of vehicle batteries as a power source during outages.
As Heliox points out, the system is manufactured and tested in the United States and is fully compliant with the Buy America Act, making it eligible for federal and state-funded electrification projects. The Heliox charger is also available with 30 and 60 kW. However, in both cases, it does not offer vehicle-to-grid capabilities.
