eActros 600 supports grape harvest logistics in Champagne
The vehicles transport freshly pressed grape juice from wineries to the fermentation tanks of champagne producer Vranken-Pommery. The company is one of the region’s largest food-tank transport specialists, running a fleet of 50 trucks and around 100 tanks. After a successful trial during last year’s harvest, Lebrun opted to introduce two battery-electric vehicles for regular operations.
According to Daimler Truck, the eActros 600 covered several thousand hectolitres of product across the region, operating quietly and without local CO₂ emissions.
“The new electric flagship from Mercedes-Benz Trucks is attracting a lot of attention from winegrowers and Vranken-Pommery and is leaving a lasting impression – as a symbol of the future of mobility in viticulture,” the company said.
The eActros 600 entered series production at the end of November last year, with customer deliveries beginning in December 2024. The model is now in daily operation in more than 15 European countries. The truck uses three LFP battery packs with a total installed capacity of 621 kWh and can travel up to 500 kilometres on one charge.

Meanwhile, Daimler Trucks’ portfolio is becoming more diverse, and with it, presumably, the areas of application for electric trucks.
As announced in October, the eActros 600 is now also available in more variants, for example as a 4×2 flatbed chassis with wheelbases of 4, 5 and 5.8 m. In addition to the 4.6 and 4.9 m wheelbases already available, there will be four further wheelbases for the 6×2 flatbed, analogous to the eActros 400 (4, 4.5, 5.2 and 5.8 metres).
The manufacturer also recently introduced a new version of its electric truck, the new eActross 400. It has two instead of three battery packs, with a total capacity of 414 kWh. That makes the eActros 400 1.5 tonnes lighter than the flagship 600. The new variant thus has more payload, which increases to 9.5 tonnes. In combination with a standard semi-trailer, the eActros 400 can carry over 25 tonnes – that is three tonnes more than the eActros 600.
