Kia launches PV5 pickup in South Korea
The new PV5 pickup is now available for order in South Korea, priced from 43.45 million Won—approximately 25,200 euros. Up to the B-pillar, it shares its design with the familiar van variant but features a metal panel behind it, extending into an open load area. This concept is similar to the VW e-Transporter flatbed, though the VW model includes a double cab with two rows of seats ahead of the load area, while the PV5 pickup offers only one row.
With its pickup load area, the PV5 measures 5.04 metres in length, 1.90 metres in width, and 1.95 metres in height. The load area itself spans 2.42 x 1.75 metres. In South Korea, the model is available in two trim levels—Basic and Plus—and two battery variants: Standard Range and Long Range. These are powered by either a 51.5 kWh battery or a 71.2 kWh long-range version.
At an event last July, Kia unveiled additional body variants of its first model under the PBV strategy, alongside the well-known PV5 Cargo and the private-customer version PV5 Passenger. The pickup is the first of these variants to go on sale in South Korea. However, it remains unclear whether the pickup or flatbed version will be introduced in Europe.

For Europe, Kia presented the PV5 Chassis Cab at the Solutrans trade fair in November 2025. Based on this chassis cab, a flatbed conversion is also possible, and this variant is already available for order in Germany. At the transport trade fair in France, Kia showcased a food truck body as an example of a conversion built on this chassis.
Like the PV5 Cargo and Passenger variants, the chassis cab is based on the E-GMP.S platform (Electric-Global Modular Platform for Service), which Kia uses for its ‘Platform Beyond Vehicle’ (PBV) strategy. The powertrain options remain consistent: the PV5 Chassis Cab is available with a 51.5 kWh battery at launch, while the 71.2 kWh long-range battery is expected to arrive in Europe later this year.
