KGM launches Musso EV electric pick-up in the UK

The Musso EV marks KG Mobility's entry into the UK electric pick-up segment, combining an 80.6 kWh LFP battery, a WLTP range of up to 240 miles and a 2.3-tonne towing capacity. Prices start at £42,495.

The Musso EV is powered by an electric drivetrain that combines front and rear motors, producing a total system output of 207 PS (152 kW) and 339 Nm of torque. A dynamic, full-time all-wheel drive system continuously monitors wheel speed and redistributes torque to maintain traction and stability across different driving conditions.

The 80.6 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery is supplied by BYD. It allows the vehicle to achieve up to 240 miles on one charge, the carmaker states. KGM adds that the battery features cell-to-pack technology to enhance energy density and durability, and supports DC rapid charging from 20 to 80 per cent in 31 minutes at up to 300 kW.

With a payload of 690 kg and a towing capacity of up to 2.3 tonnes, the Musso EV is positioned to meet the requirements of commercial users transitioning to electric mobility. At the same time, KGM Motors UK is targeting both commercial operators and private users.

Load-sensitive and self-levelling rear suspension support stability under varying load conditions, while regenerative braking can be adjusted in three stages via steering wheel paddles. The system adapts to gradients, traffic conditions and other inputs to optimise efficiency and reduce driver input.

The load bed includes provisions for partitions to secure cargo, while the reinforced tailgate can support up to 150 kg and be used as seating. Vehicle-to-load functionality enables the vehicle to power tools, equipment or leisure accessories directly.

Exterior design elements include LED lighting, pronounced wheel arches and a closed front grille, while six paint finishes will be offered. Inside, the Musso EV features a dual 12.3-inch display integrating the digital instrument cluster and infotainment system. Heated and ventilated front seats, power-adjustable seating with lumbar support and heated rear seats are included, alongside a spacious cabin layout.

Safety features include adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane keeping assist and blind spot detection, supported by a 3D around-view monitoring system. The body structure incorporates a high proportion of high-tensile steel and eight airbags.

The Musso EV will be available for customer test drives from May 2026 at participating dealers in the UK. Pricing starts at £42,495 including VAT, incorporating the £2,500 Plug-in Van Grant.

“The launch of Musso EV represents a major step forward for KGM in the UK, setting new standards for capability and innovation in the pickup market,” said Kevin Griffin, Managing Director of KGM Motors UK. “Its combination of usable electric range, towing and payload capacity, and driver convenience features, it gives both fleet and private customers a genuinely compelling alternative to diesel.”
