Mahle chargeBIG unveils new AC charging station with four charging points

At this year's Power2Drive, Mahle chargeBIG is presenting a charging terminal that can supply up to four electric vehicles simultaneously with 22 kW of AC charging power each. The new development was created in cooperation with Langmatz Energy, a provider of infrastructure and housing solutions.

chargeBIG, a subsidiary of the automotive supplier Mahle, is currently targeting parking space operators, municipalities and businesses with the smallBOX Public – its compactly designed charging unit .

Thanks to its integrated design, no additional charging pillars are required. This saves space and allows seamless integration into existing parking structures, as Mahle chargeBIG explains. An integrated payment terminal enables end customers to settle transactions effortlessly using an RFID charging card or credit card. Meanwhile, its outdoor housing – developed by Langmatz Energy – is optimised for Mahle chargeBIG’s dynamic, grid-relieving AC charging technology.

“Charging must be as easy as refueling, regardless of location. Whether for fleet parking spaces, public and corporate parking lots, or temporary construction sites, our expanded product portfolio delivers the right intelligent charging solution for every use case,” says Dr. Matthias Kreimeier, Managing Director of Mahle chargeBIG.

The company has not yet published a datasheet for the new four-point charging station. However, Mahle chargeBIG has introduced two new financing models for charging infrastructure development. Developed in collaboration with BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions, these eliminate the need for high upfront investments.

One option is classic leasing, which allows customers to benefit from predictable monthly payments that preserve liquidity and create financial flexibility. The hire purchase model, meanwhile, offers the advantage of ownership at the end of the term, allowing the charging infrastructure to be recorded as a long-term asset.

Mahle chargeBIG will present the new four-point charging station and the financing models next week at Power2Drive. The event will take place from 23 to 25 June 2026 at the Munich exhibition centre. The Mahle stand will be located in Hall C6, Stand No. 320. There, Mahle chargeBIG will also showcase two other innovations in charging infrastructure: the mobile charging solution smallBOX Portable, for example, is ideal for construction sites, events or temporary charging parks and offers four charging points with up to 22kW of power each – entirely without permanent installation. Additionally, Mahle has developed a new cooling module for DC fast chargers that efficiently dissipates heat generated by the charging cable, ensuring maximum charging performance even under extreme climatic conditions.
