Following the BMW 530e, the BMW 225xe Active Tourer is now also available with the latest battery cell technology upgrade. The new battery increases the electric range of the BMW 225xe Active Tourer by more than 25 per cent to up to 53 kilometres.

BMW is upgrading its PHEV models for the summer with new battery cell technology for greater electric ranges. All plug-in hybrid models from the Bavarian carmaker will also be equipped with acoustic pedestrian protection.

As announced, BMW is now presenting the second generation PHEV models of their 7 Series, the X5 and the 3 Series Sedan at the Geneva Motor Show. The manufacturer also announces that the BMW X3 will also be produced in a plug-in hybrid version from December 2019.
