GAC Aion builds second plant with 200,000 production capacity

GAC Aion, the electric car offshoot of the Chinese GAC Group, is building a second plant with a capacity of 200,000 vehicles per year. With the new plant, whose construction is to be completed by December 2022 according to Chinese media, GAC Aion would double its production capacity.

Aion LX Plus to exceed 1,000 NEDC km range

The Chinese manufacturer GAC Aion has increased the maximum range of its LX electric SUV to over 1,000 kilometres – albeit, as is still customary in China, according to the outdated NEDC standard. The improved vehicle is expected to debut on GAC Aion’s home market in the coming months.

GAC Aion V charges in 8 minutes

The Chinese car manufacturer GAC plans to launch the Aion V with a graphene battery in September. In a demonstration, the car is said to have managed a charging process from zero to 80 per cent in eight minutes. GAC Aion showcased its super-fast charging technology in two versions, 3C and 6C.

GAC sees progress with graphene-based battery

Chinese carmaker GAC has announced, “groundbreaking progress” with graphene-based battery technology. These batteries may significantly reduce charging time and considerably extend the battery’s life. The batteries will be installed in the first vehicle from September.
