Electric refuse trucks arrive in Manchester
The English city of Manchester now operates the UK’s largest fleet of all-electric refuse trucks. It took garbage collectors Biffa only a few months to replace the fleet, although the council funding certainly helped.
Engie launches waste partnership with Biffa
The UK-based Engie has agreed to launch a partnership with waste management company Biffa to provide electric vehicle charging facilities across their UK sites. This is to support Biffa’s ‘Resourceful, Responsible’ sustainability strategy.
Manchester orders electric refuse trucks
The English city of Manchester will replace almost half of its refuse collection vehicles with electric alternatives. Following an agreement on the financing, the company responsible has ordered 27 electric refuse collection vehicles.
