Stellantis is buying lithium from California
Stellantis has entered into a binding offtake agreement for lithium hydroxide with Controlled Thermal Resources (CTR). The battery-grade material mined by CTR in California will be used in electric cars manufactured in North America.

Britishvolt & Italvolt founder announces US subsidiary
Lars Carlstrom, the founder of Britishvolt and Italvolt, has announced another battery factory – this time in the USA. The newly founded company Statevolt is to build a factory in Southern California’s Imperial Valley that will offer an annual capacity of 54 GWh when fully expanded – enough for around 650,000 electric vehicles.

GM to source Lithium in the USA
General Motors has agreed a strategic investment and collaboration with Controlled Thermal Resources (CTR) to secure lithium from the US. The cooperation is intended to accelerate the introduction of lithium extraction methods that have a less harmful impact on the environment.
