Tesla targets 100 more hectares for Giga Berlin
Tesla has submitted an application to the state of Brandenburg for the clearing of a further 100 hectares of forest on its Giga Berlin site. Back in the USA, the electric car manufacturer’s construction plans for its latest Gigafactory in the state of Texas have now been made public.

Audi lends staff to Porsche to ramp up Taycan production
Porsche can hardly keep up with production due to the high demand for the Taycan electric luxury car, so reinforcements are coming from the group’s sister company, Audi. 400 employees from Neckarsulm are moving to Zuffenhausen for two years to help out.

Tesla is ordering battery manufacturing equipment
According to a media report, Tesla has commissioned the South Korean company Hanwha to supply equipment for battery formation. This is probably equipment that Tesla is already ordering for its intended cell production.

July EV sales in the U.S.
Exactly 7,762 electric cars found new owners in July in the States, 50.9 percent more than in the same month last year. PHEV sales grew even stronger and were up 68% with 6,525 units sold. Chevy’s Volt leads the pack while Tesla’s Model S remained the best-selling EV. 32,633 hybrids were sold.
