Ford to offer electrified options for every model
Ford is planning on restructuring their business in Europe, in order to improve their competitiveness as well as profitability. As part of this effort, Ford Europe has announced that beginning with the new Focus, each model series would receive an electric version in future.
Ford recalls EV charging cords
Ford has begun the recall action for their 120 volt charging cables sold with nearly all of their hybrids and electric vehicles up to 2015. The recall has been ordered due to overheating issues, after it was found that the cables can even start fires under certain conditions.
Chevrolet Volt, Ford Focus Electric.
Video tip 1: Chevrolet is kicking off its marketing campaign for the new Volt with two advertising videos. Chevy is poking fun at perceived weaknesses of competitors, such as range anxiety (Nissan Leaf) and outdated battery technology (Toyota Prius).

Video tip 2: Ford released a very short ad spot for the Focus Electric targeted at the U.S. market, where the Motor City carmaker sells less than 200 of these all-electric vehicles per month.

Ford Focus Electric, Cadillac ELR.
Video tip 1: Robert Llewellyn from Fully Charged tested the Ford Focus Electric in Germany. While he thinks the car is “great,” its price is “interesting” and in his opinion cannot be fully explained be higher battery cost alone.
Video tip 2: Cadillac’s recent spot for the ELR called Poolside, advertised the electric car as for the few – or at least that is how it was perceived. It has now sparked discussions all over the web.
