BattLife battery research project launches in Germany

In Germany, Fraunhofer IKTS has just launched the research project called BattLife at the newly founded Battery Innovation and Technology Center BITC at Erfurter Kreuz. As part of the project, a digitised test centre for batteries and battery components will be established at BITC.

Dresden researchers to improve battery cell electrodes

Researchers at the Dresden ExcellBattMat Center at the Fraunhofer IWS want to contribute key components to the large-scale “Research Production Battery Cell” project in Münster. The research object is electrodes made of silicon or lithium layers.

Bipolar batteries for longer range electric vehicles

Within the EMBATT-goes-FAB project, ThyssenKrupp System Engineering, IAV, Daimler and Fraunhofer IKTS are developing bipolar batteries for electric vehicles based on lithium-ion technology. These batteries shall achieve ranges of up to 1,000 km.
