INVADE looks at algorithms to solve grid overload

Intelligent charging of electric cars could significantly reduce the need for grid extensions. This is the result of a smart charging test within the framework of the now completed European project Invade. The central component of the test was a specially created algorithm from GreenFlux.

SSE offers off-peak charging bonus

The UK energy supplier SSE Energy Services has launched a new tariff for EV drivers, providing up to 2,000 kWh of free electricity per year for overnight charging at non-peak hours between midnight and 7 am.

FRESH project: Hamburg testing AGVs as grid stabilisers

Hamburg’s port management company HHLA is currently testing the extent to which its electric automated guided vehicles (AGVs), used for transporting containers, can be flexibly integrated into the grid without affecting industrial operation. The effort is part of the FRESH funding project.
