Stellantis expands plant at Opel HQ in Germany
Stellantis reports extensive work at Opel’s headquarters in Rüsselsheim, Germany, to implement the electrified EMP2 platform. This will allow Opel/Vauxhall to introduce a second production shift in Rüsselsheim, which is scheduled to start in autumn this year.
eHighway project kicks off in Germany
Tomorrow, the eHighway project Elisa (electrified, innovative heavy traffic on the autobahn) will start on a section of the A5 highway between Langen and Weiterstadt. For the first time on a German motorway, hybrid trucks will be powered via overhead lines.
Tesla steps up EV production.
Tesla increased production to 2,000 vehicles per week, according to Eletrek. That means about 104,000 EVs would roll off production lines every year and that the EV maker has a real shot at meeting its own goal of delivering 80,000 t0 90,000 EVs in 2016.
