ICCT study reveals electric car-sharing success factors
The ICCT, in a new briefing, looks at electric carsharing in Europe and North America and provides detailed insights into charging infrastructure needs and best practices gained from successful carsharing schemes. Crucially, EV sharing programs can reduce GHG emissions by up to 43%.
ZEBRA to bring electric buses to South America
The ZEBRA (Zero Emission Bus Rapid-deployment Accelerator) project, led by the International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT) and C40 Cities, is dedicated to accelerating the rollout of electric buses in Latin America. Phase one focuses on four cities.

Reading tip: Environmental organisation ICCT has evaluated data of public authorities and other agencies in Europe about 541 diesel cars with Euro 5 and 6 standard. According to their results, Euro 6 diesel cars are in average 4.5 times above the nitrogen oxide limit. Just 10 percent of them stay under the given threshold.

Reading tip: Speaking of more EVs, it looks like Chinese automakers could produce 49 of all 103 EV models scheduled to launch by 2020 globally. On top, two-thirds of the world’s manufacturing capacity for lithium-ion batteries will be in China by 2021, a forecast of U.S. consulting firm AlixPartners suggests.

Study tip: According to research association ICCT, a CO2 cap of 70g/km is technically possibly and financially doable for the automotive industry. They could even reach that without having any EVs in their line-up, though if they did, investments would drop by 500 euros per vehicle.
