VW to build the e-Up until 2025 – ID.2 to follow
Volkswagen plans to continue building the e-Up until the end of 2025, as Hildegard Wortmann, Member of the Board of Management for Sales, has now announced. The production version of the ID. Life concept, which is now referred to as the ID.2, will then take over seamlessly.
Audi is also planning small electric cars
VW subsidiary Audi will electrify all core segments by 2027, according to Oliver Hoffmann, a member of the board of management responsible for development. According to statements made by the manager in an interview, this also includes battery-electric premium small cars.
Seat aims for 500,000 electric cars per year
Seat wants to produce 500,000 electric cars per year in Spain from 2025 for its own label and other Volkswagen Group brands. Seat announced the target along with its own new ‘urban electric vehicle’ at the company’s annual press conference.
VW looks at China to make small e-cars for Europe
Rumours about a small electric car from Volkswagen for less than 20,000 euros are back on the boil. Apparently, VW will be cooperating with JAC from China for the construction of the small BEV. This is not such a surprising development given the project’s past and increasing demand for smaller electric cars.
