Hyundai to include V2G capabilities for their EVs

Hyundai opens automobile plant in Indonesia

Hyundai has opened its first vehicle plant in Indonesia. The factory in Cikarang is the first Hyundai plant in Southeast Asia to also produce battery-electric vehicles. The first EV produced there will initially be the Ioniq 5, with a battery cell factory to follow.

Hyundai boosts 2023 Ioniq 5 battery and range

Hyundai announces US pricing for the 2022 Ioniq 5

Hyundai has announced prices for the 2022 Ioniq 5 in the U.S. market to go on sale in late December. A new entry-level 58 kWh battery option is also to be introduced to the lineup in Spring 2022. The entry-level model starts at $39,700 before tax credits.

Hyundai rumoured to upgrade Ioniq 5 battery

According to a South Korean media report, Hyundai is already planning an upgrade for its electric model Ioniq 5, which was launched on the market only a few months ago, to be offered from the beginning of 2022. The upgrade will apparently focus on the larger of the two battery options.

In Norway, 11,811 new electric cars were registered in August. The share of electric cars in new passenger car registrations was 71.9 per cent last month. Norway’s most successful model across all drive types in August was the Tesla Model Y with 1,308 new registrations.

Hyundai confirms Ioniq 6 and Ioniq 7 launch

Hyundai has officially confirmed for the first time that the next electric vehicle models based on the E-GMP platform will be called Ioniq 6 and Ioniq 7, as recently leaked, and will be launched in 2022 and 2024 respectively. As suspected, the Ioniq 6 will be a mid-size sedan, the Ioniq 7 a large SUV.

Hyundai marks >200,000 interest expressions for Ioniq 5

Hyundai has reported a high level of interest in the 800-volt electric vehicle less than a week after the Ioniq 5 world premiere. Customers in Europe have submitted 236,000 expressions of interest for the special edition ‘Project 45’. Production is limited to 3,000 units, so it was sold out within a few hours.
