Hyundai Ioniq 5 battery preconditioning: is it worth the upgrade?
The Hyundai Ioniq 5 in MY2023 has a slightly larger battery and new battery pre-conditioning. The car can adapt the battery temperature before charging to enable faster and more constant charging. We went to test if the upgrade is worth it and our charge curves show real-life ups and downs.

Hyundai to start manufacturing the Ioniq 5 in Singapore
Hyundai Motor’s assembly plant in Singapore will start rolling out the electric Ioniq 5 in the first half of this year. The Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Centre in Jurong, the site of Singapore’s first vehicle assembly plant in more than 40 years, is expected to be completed in April.

Hyundai to sell only electric vehicles in Norway from 2023
Hyundai will only sell pure electric cars in Norway from 1 January 2023. Since 2020, the Korean manufacturer had already been offering only electric cars and plug-in hybrids there. At the end of 2022, Hyundai sold the last PHEVs in Norway and is now focusing on pure electricity.

Hyundai opens automobile plant in Indonesia

In Norway, 11,811 new electric cars were registered in August. The share of electric cars in new passenger car registrations was 71.9 per cent last month. Norway’s most successful model across all drive types in August was the Tesla Model Y with 1,308 new registrations.

Hyundai confirms Ioniq 6 and Ioniq 7 launch
Hyundai has officially confirmed for the first time that the next electric vehicle models based on the E-GMP platform will be called Ioniq 6 and Ioniq 7, as recently leaked, and will be launched in 2022 and 2024 respectively. Hyundai plans next e-GMP models by 2022 & 2024
According to a report in South Korean media, Hyundai is already planning its second electric model based on the E-GMP after the Ioniq 5 for next year. After that, there will be a one-year break followed by the third model at the beginning of 2024.
