Electric car makers write open letter to US Congress

The CEOs of General Motors, Ford, Stellantis and Toyota Motor North America are urging the U.S. Congress to lift the federal government’s cap on the number of vehicles that are eligible for a tax credit of up to $7,500 from the current 200,000 vehicle cap.

Ford aims for direct sales model in the USA

Ford wants to begin offering its electric cars exclusively through direct sales at fixed prices. Ford CEO Jim Farley has now announced this, at least for the North American market. However, it is still unclear when this will be implemented and whether the new sales system could also be extended to other markets.

Ford spins off its e-mobility business

The US carmaker Ford has announced that it will divide its automotive business into two separate companies. Electric vehicles will in future be developed and built by ‘Ford Model e’, the combustion cars by ‘Ford Blue’.
