Kiwis charge fast: New Zealand installed the first rapid charging station of a planned 75 in the Charge.Net.NZ. It is located in the Kaiwaka community on the way from Auckland to Northland. The initiative also created a platform for 3rd party providers to integrate their stations in the network.

Small town electrification: The Lane Transit District (LTD) purchased five electric and five hybrid buses to go into service by the end of 2016. The move away from oil found 1,000 signatures beforehand. The ten green buses costs 7m dollars and will make a tenth of the fleet running in Eugene and Springfield.

Street lighting and charging: 15 smart street lamps were inaugurated in Shanghai. The lamps allow for EV charging, have wifi and measure air pollution in the Chinese metropolis. Charging is not free but app payments are enabled. If the trial is successful, more enlightening lamp posts will follow.

Lighter electric bus: Hong Kong is to roll out a trial with a locally designed electric bus this November. The 12.5t bus took two years to complete and has a range of 380 kilometres. The 12-metre single-decker can carry up to 75 passengers and will be tested on the city’s roads for a month.
