EVgo enters partnership with the City of Portland, Maine
EVgo has signed into a public-private partnership with Portland, Maine’s largest city, to deploy electric vehicle charging stations on city-owned property. Through the partnership, EVgo will install eight DC fast chargers (DCFC) and up to 44 Level 2 chargers across Portland.
USA: Maine approves $500k for EV charging stations
In the USA, Maine Public Utilities Commission has approved four pilot projects to manage $500,000 dollars in incentives towards EV charging stations across the state. Central Maine Power and Efficiency Maine Trust (EMT) were chosen for the four pilot projects that should inform future policies to support EV deployment in Maine.
Maine uses VW’s penalty funds for EV subsidies
The US state of Maine won a $5.1 million legal settlement against the Volkswagen Group for violating state environmental laws and emissions through their marketing and sales of light vehicles in 2017. The funds are now to be used to fund the procurement of BEVs and PHEVs.
Hydrogen and fuel cell development plans.
A total of 10,800 FCVs, 640 FC buses, and 110 H2 fuelling stations in eight North-Eastern states until 2025 are outlined in the ‘2015 Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Development Plans’ by the Northeast Electrochemical Energy Storage Cluster in the USA.
