Not smart if you can’t start

Mercedes-Benz is recalling 1,463 units of its EQC electric model worldwide, 136 of these in Germany. Due to inadequate sealing of the high-voltage battery housing, corrosion could lead to moisture ingress, making it impossible to restart the vehicle. In addition, there is an increased risk of fire.

Mercedes recalls passenger and delivery e-vans

Just a few months after its market launch, the Mercedes-Benz electric passenger van, the EQV is already subject to a recall: 302 EQVs produced between 21 February and 27 October 2020 will have to go back to the factory. According to our updates, the e-Sprinter and e-Vito electric delivery vehicles are also affected by recalls.

WM Motor begins recall after vehicle fire

The Chinese startup WM Motor has recalled 1,282 of its EX5 electric cars after four of its vehicles caught fire within one month. This is the latest of a number of large recalls made by carmakers in Asia, Europe and North Americain the last few weeks due to battery problems.

Recall of 2,000 Polestar 2 electric cars confirmed

BMW i5 plot thickens: BMW CEO Harald Krüger announced a new model joining the ranks of the electric i-series “soon,” as he spoke to German weekly Zeit. It will be bigger than the i3 and has been spoken of as i5 previously. Furthermore, the i3 will come with longer range next year.

Aston Martin RapidE: The British carmaker officially unveiled a prototype of its adumbrated electric sedan. Already by 2017, the RapidE Concept could launch boasting 735 kW, especially with the help of investor ChinaEquity. Even Chinese president Xi Jinping graced the electric revelation.

Korean recall: Hyundai is asking about 10,000 owners of the Grandeur Hybrid produced between Dec 2013 and Oct 2014 to return to the garages immediately. Recalling the recalled.

We have gotten used to write about recalls, but this tops previous reports. Ford is re-recalling nearly 40,000 vehicles in the U.S., to inspect steering shafts that could break and cause loss of steering. Ford said that after making the repairs, it discovered the way it had fixed them was “improper.”
