Starting in the spring of 2021, the Swedish port city of Gothenburg is planning to establish a zero-emission urban area under the title ‘Gothenburg Green City Zone,’ which will have a variety of climate-neutral modes of transport and a networked infrastructure.

Carmakers Volvo and Volkswagen’s Scania together with the Research Institutes of Sweden (RISE), and Chalmers University of Technology are establishing a testbed for electric mobility. With funding from the Swedish government the investment totals one billion krona (about 96M euro).
