Tesla CEO Elon Musk played down speculations regarding a possible tie-up with BMW, saying the recent talks between the two companies were informal.
“We look back now and say the Prius changed the industry. I think we’re going to be looking back and saying Mirai changed it all.”
Robert Carter, head of automotive operations at Toyota USA, is confident that the company’s new fuel cell car will have a definite impact on the automotive industry.
“This is a dead end technology and the manufacturers are foolishly wasting their time.”
Donald Sadoway, Professor of Materials Chemistry at the MIT, has a very clear opinion when it comes to fuel cell technology. His main concern is the production and especially transport of hydrogen, since it requires a whole different infrastructure.
