Wave to develop high voltage inductive charging system

The US company Wave (Wireless Advanced Vehicle Electrification), a subsidiary of Ideanomics, develops inductive charging systems for electric commercial vehicles. For future developments, Wave is planning 500 and 1,000 kW charging power – and explicitly refers to the Tesla Semi.

First Tesla Model Y units arrive in Europe

The first Tesla Model Ys have arrived in Europe. A German manager of the electric car manufacturer made this public on his LinkedIn channel. The official start of deliveries is still scheduled for September, but it looks like the first deliveries could take place in August. This is also supported by a media date.

Dedicated e-truck charging site coming up in California

WattEV is building a pilot electric truck stop in California’s San Joaquin Valley, positioned near logistics fulfilment centres run by Amazon and Walmart. The mega-watt charging site will feature a solar micro-grid with battery storage, plus grid energy from PG&E.

10 Tesla Semi and 2 Megachargers ordered by MHX

MHX a leasing and logistics firm in California has been awarded a $1.9 million grant from the Mobile Source Air Pollution Reduction Review Committee (MSRC) to purchase 10 Tesla Semis and two Megachargers. MHX has also been awarded a separate $560,000 grant from MSRC to deploy two overhead electric cranes for electric forklifts.

Tesla moves to launch cell production in Grünheide by 2022

Tesla wants to submit the application for approval for the production of battery cells in Grünheide to German authorities by July of this year at the latest. According to the corresponding media report, the production start for the cells in Grünheide is targeted for 2022.

Nikola Motor has filed a lawsuit against Tesla claiming the Semi electric truck to be “substantially” similar to Nikola Motor’s own design of a fuel cell electric semi truck. In the filing, the infringement is estimated to be worth a loss of 2 billion dollars to Nikola. Tesla denies the allegations.
