SVOLT expands with a third plant in China
The battery cell manufacturer SVOLT, which emerged from the Chinese carmaker Great Wall, wants to further expand its production capacities in China. Another cell factory is now to be built in Chengdu, which is to have a capacity of 60 GWh in the third expansion stage.
CATL puts Yibin 15-GWh-plant section into operation
CATL has completed the first expansion stage of its battery cell plant in the city of Yibin in southwest China’s Sichuan Province, for which it has already commissioned the equipment. The company puts the annual capacity of the completed section at 15 GWh.
SVOLT plans two new battery factories in China
The battery cell manufacturer SVOLT, which emerged from the Chinese carmaker Great Wall, is expanding its production capacities in China. New factories are planned in Huzhou in China’s Zhejiang province and Suining in Sichuan province, each with annual capacities of 20 GWh.
Senmiao follows up order with 500 EVs from BYD
Senmiao is a provider of automobile transaction and related services targeting the online ride-hailing industry in China. The service has now begun operating its own online ride-hailing platform and announced that it has ordered another 500 electric vehicles manufactured by BYD of a total order for around 5000 electric vehicles.
Tesla to get lithium from China’s Yahua Group
Tesla has signed a contract with the Chinese Sichuan Yahua Industrial Group to supply battery-grade lithium hydroxide for the next five years. According to a report from the Shenzhen Stock Exchange, the contract is worth between 513 and 716 million euros.
