Rolls-Royce Spectre performance data revealed
Rolls-Royce has unveiled its first ever purely electric model headed for production, the Spectre. A year after announcing the car and plans for full electrification, the company now provides performance data, albeit dependent on extensive ongoing testing.
Rolls-Royce completes winter testing for the Spectre
Rolls-Royce has completed winter testing of its first electric model, the Spectre, in the Arctic Circle in temperatures as low as minus 40 degrees, about a quarter of the 2.5 million test kilometres planned for the battery-electric car. There are also rumours about the BEV’s drive system.
Rolls-Royce plans to go fully electric in 2030
Rolls-Royce has announced that it will no longer build or sell cars with combustion engines from 2030. The luxury British brand belonging to BMW, will thus also become a purely electric car manufacturer. Fittingly, Rolls-Royce provided a brief preview of its first electric model.
A true villain.
In the new Bond movie Spectre, Bond’s nemesis Herr Oberhauser is to flee in the Jaguar C-X75 Concept car the company shunned to produce. The film version will waive the original four electric motors for a V8. A villain with a conscience would have been out of character it seems.
