Dräxlmaier producing Porsche Taycan battery system
The German automobile supplier Dräxlmaier, located near Stuttgart, is starting series production of the 800-volt total battery system for the Porsche Taycan. For this purpose, the Bavarian company built their first battery assembly plant on an area of 10,000 sqm.
Japan: ABB to set up charging network for Porsche
ABB will install a rapid charging network in Japan for Porsche’s Taycan and future electrical models from the manufacturer. An agreement has now been reached to install ABB fast chargers at Porsche centers and public facilities throughout Japan.
Porsche Taycan clocks 20,000 pre-order options
Porsche has already registered more than 20,000 potential buyers for its first electric car, the Taycan. Potential customers have had themselves entered in a list for an option programme with a down payment of 2,500 euros (in Europe).

Taycan customers get free charging in the USA
Purchasers of the electric Porsche Taycan will be allowed to use Electrify America fast-charging stations for up to 30 minutes for free for a three year period. The corresponding agreement between Porsche and the VW subsidiary was just announced.

Porsche is beginning to make real noise for its upcoming all-electric car, the Taycan. Formerly dubbed Mission E, workers in Stuttgart have started a small series production in the new facility. Porsche will use those first 100 EVs for testing and practising.
