Austrian police launches BEV pilot project
The Austrian police are testing a total of 23 electric cars in four federal provinces for their suitability in police service. The pilot project will start in the fourth quarter of 2023, but the 20 police stations in Salzburg, Lower Austria, Vienna and Tyrol have already taken delivery of the electric cars.

ABT & WiTricity to offer inductive charging solution for the ID.4
ABT e-Line wants to offer inductive charging for electric cars in the European aftermarket with WiTricity. The VW ID.4, which will be upgraded by ABT e-Line for wireless charging with WiTricity technology, will be the first to be launched at the beginning of 2024. Other electric cars from the VW Group are to follow.

Volkswagen boosts BEV deliveries by 27%
The Volkswagen Group increased its deliveries of fully electric vehicles by 27 per cent in the first six months of 2022 compared to the same period last year. A total of 217,100 all-electric vehicles were handed over to customers in the first half of the year, up from 170,900 in the same period last year.

Taycan sets a charging record in the USA
The Porsche Taycan has set a new official Guinness World Record in the USA for the shortest charging time of an EV during a coast-to-coast drive. Wayne Gerdes completed the 2,834.5-mile trip from L.A. to New York in a 2021 Taycan with a cumulative charge time of 2 hours, 26 minutes and 48 seconds.
