Montra Electric deploys 100 electric reefer trucks in India
The new fleet of electric reefer trucks will allow More Retail to transport temperature-sensitive goods within a temperature range of -25°C to 25°C. All 100 units are Montra Electric’s Eviator small truck.
The Eviator has a 2.677 m wheelbase, and its cargo bed measures 3.145 m (10.3 ft) in length, 1.750 m (5.7 ft) in width, and 2.020 m (6.6 ft) in height. Montra Electric claims this is the largest loading deck in the segment and states that it has a maximum payload capacity of 1.7 tonnes. The company manufactures the Eviator in multiple versions, including the 350L and 350X, as well as the 350 and 350L+ configurations launched in April 2026.
Montra Electric is using the Eviator 350 for the latest deployment, and this version features a 32 kWh LFP battery pack that delivers a range of 130 kilometres. The battery pack powers a single rear-mounted motor that generates 80 kW and 300 Nm of torque. The small electric truck accommodates three people in the cabin.
Depending on the version, Montra Electric equips the Eviator with features such as segment-first LED headlamps with daytime running lights, LED tail lights, a digital instrument cluster, a touchscreen infotainment system, air conditioning, and a USB port. On the safety front, the company includes advanced driver assistance systems, Hill Hold Assist, a reverse parking camera, and fog lamps.
Commenting on the latest deployment, Saju Nair, CEO of Montra Electric (e-SCV), said: “Cold chain logistics is one of the most demanding segments in urban transport, where performance, precision, and uptime are non-negotiable. With the Eviator 350, we have developed a purpose-built solution that integrates refrigeration with electric mobility seamlessly.”
