Bolloré coming to London for real: Tomorrow, the head of the Parisian electric car sharing firm, Vincent Bolloré, will unveil a righthand-drive version of the EV in London. Here, the usually blue cars will come in “double-decker red.” Bolloré intends to introduce 3,000 electric cars to share and 6,000 charge points in London until 2018, the Evening Standard reports. The first 50 Bolloré or “Boris cars” will be ready to be shared by Britains at the start of 2016.
Free charging funded: Volta Industries is working with “socially responsible brands” and has thus built up a network of 100 charging stations in 5 cities (San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Phoenix, and Honolulu) where charging is offered for free. The company has now secured 7.5 million dollars in funding to expand its operations.
2 million dollars of funding are waiting for landlords and small business owners in California willing to install EV charging stations. The ‘Electric Vehicle Charging Station Financing’ programme offers a rebate of up to 15 percent of the cost to install charging stations.
Solar EV charging: eMotorWerks together with Slingshot Power will start to offer a solar package for EV charging. Slingshot Power customers will receive a free JuiceBox Pro 40, a charging station from eMotorWerks. The bundle comes with various financing options.
The 100th charging station by RheinEnergie has now taken up its service in German Cologne. The station can be found in front of the German Aerospace Center (DLR) where it can be used not only by DLR employees but the public alike. The energy comes from 100% renewables.
