Robotic fast-charging: Volkswagen is reportedly working on automated parking technology for EVs and a new part of its V-Charge project just surfaced – the DC quick-charger e-smartConnect. It features a Kuka robot that will charge electric cars automatically. After an EV has parked itself and is fully charged, the robot is automatically moved on via a conveyor system to the next vehicle in line.

Long live Canada: Electrovaya will couple its patented battery technology with that of Litarion, a recently acquired subsidiary of German Evonik. The aim is to produce safe and reliable Li-ion batteries at competitive prices. Production in Saxonian Kamenz will be reorganised by the end of 2016.

Electric super Corvette: Genovation Cars says it is about to finish prototyping for a fully electric Corvette. The Genovation Extreme Electric (GXE) is based on the Corvette Z06 but said to deliver much more “oomph,” as it boasts 515 kW, 800 Nm of torque and a top speed of 320 kph.
