Both Beijing Automotive and SAIC set up subsidies to deploy EV charging stations. SAIC’s Anyue plans to build 50,000 nationwide by 2020. Technology companies like LeTV or ZTE are also part of the effort. In Shanghai alone, 100,000 charge spots will be build if crowdfunding campaign Star Charge is successful in its quest for spaces.

Gogoro goes Europe: The battery-swapping rental scooters are bound for Amsterdam in 2016. More European cities are to follow after the Dutch capital, where Gogoro works with the Smart City Experience Lab. The system already runs with 90 GoStations and 2,000 electric scooters in Taiwan.
