Honda to electrify 66% by 2030: Currently, only five percent of Honda’s line-up are outfitted with an electric or hybrid engine. The carmaker predicts that in 15 years, that number will climb to 66%. On top of a series of plug-in hybrids, that also includes the Clarity Fuel Cell that will go on sale in Japan in March, and the electric motorcycle Cub.

Aston EV factory: The manufacturer will build the luxury sports car DBX, which will also be available as an all-electric variant, in Wales. The production site will be set up in St. Athan by 2020. The electric sports coupé RapidE will already launch in 2018.

Chery EV factory: The Chinese carmaker kicked off construction of its 240m dollars production facility in Wuhu. Once completed, it will see some 60,000 EVs roll off production lines per year.

Less insurance: The South Korean government wants insurance companies to lower the rate for electric cars from September. A memorandum of understanding is being drafted. Because of the battery, EV drivers currently pay around 324 dollars per month.
