Nissan champions EVs: Milan will see more than 100 electric vehicles taking to the streets for the Champions League Final this weekend. Together with Italian utility A2A, Nissan will also erect 17 fast-charging stations of which 13 will remain free of charge even after the soccer circuit has left the town.

Leading by example: 40 percent of Endesa’s senior staff members will drive electrically by 2020. The 340 vehicles to be exchanged with either hybrid or fully electric ones make for 13% of the fleet. To sweeten the switch, Endesa offers 20% more money to rent a hybrid or 40% more for electric vehicles during the first three years. The rest of the employees are encouraged to uptake EVs with mobility programmes and Endesa operates its own electric car sharing scheme.

Going public: The Swiss city of Basle is to start a pilot project to offer public EV charging stations. The launch by mid 2017 will see the city install ten charging facilities on ground owned by the town. For Basle, these will be the first publicly available charge spots as existing ones are on private land so far.

Charge & Fly: SRQ International installs four EV charging stations. The Airport in Florida says the move follows increased demand from visitors driving EVs. The charge stops are prominently positioned in front of the terminal building, where they can be used for both long- and short-term parking.
